Oceania Cruises will offer its first fully gluten-free cruise aboard the Oceania Vista in 2028, giving guests the opportunity to enjoy the cruise line’s entire culinary program without worrying about gluten. Throughout the voyage, guests will be able to dine anywhere on board without having to check ingredients, ask about food preparation methods or worry about cross-contamination.
For travelers who must follow a gluten-free diet, dining while traveling requires extra vigilance. Accidental gluten exposure can trigger serious immune reactions in people with celiac disease. Cross-contamination and unclear ingredient information are among the key risks.
During the sailing, all restaurants aboard the Oceania Vista will serve entirely gluten-free menus. These include the specialty restaurants Toscana, Polo Grill, Red Ginger and Jacques, as well as more casual dining venues Aquamar Kitchen and Waves Grill. Guests will also be able to enjoy the traditional afternoon tea service, order meals through in-suite dining and sample fresh baked goods from The Bakery—all without limiting their choices or planning every meal around their dietary requirements.
The voyage is being developed in partnership with Celiac Cruise, a specialist in gluten-free travel with extensive experience creating safe, worry-free vacation experiences for people with celiac disease and those following a gluten-free diet. Celiac Cruise will contribute its expertise and understanding of the needs of gluten-free travelers and serve as the booking partner for the sailing.
The 12-day round-trip voyage from Southampton departs May 31, 2028, and explores the landscapes and historic cities of England, Ireland and Scotland. Ports of call include Cork, Dublin, Glasgow, Stornoway in the Outer Hebrides and Edinburgh.
